Aquilegia nora barlow received the prestigious rhs (royal horticultural society) garden merit (agm) award “award merit garden”.

Columbines have been grown in gardens for centuries and are among the most popular perennials around the world. This “barlow nora” selection is an unusual and historic variety.

A little of history:

Emma nora barlow (1885 – 1989) was a fantastic woman, who died at the age of 104, granddaughter of the British naturalist charles darwin (theory of evolution, the origin of species).
Having studied genetics at Cambridge University, he published two works of plant genetics based on his grandfather’s research: the different forms of flowers on plants of the same species.
And, despite not having been the creator of this aquilegia variety, he cultivated in his garden and gave some seeds to the nurseryman alam bloom, who named his commercial stock in his honor as nora barlow cultivar.

A stunning and rustic species, requires very little care, excellent germination rate, and once planted
You will present us with beautiful blooms year after year.

Excellent cut flower and an invitation to hummingbirds.

Very rare seed supply for this cultivar.
