Description

A very popular vegetable used in salads in Europe, rich in omega 3 (240 mg per 100 g), low calorie (19 kcal / 100 g).

Its natural range extends throughout the temperate zone of Europe, Asia Minor and the Caucasus. In Spain it is distributed almost throughout the peninsula.

Growing in the form of a small rosette and with spoon-shaped leaves, the whole plant is a maximum of thirty centimeters in diameter. Its leaves are soft, smooth and slightly succulent. In early spring blooms emitting a cluster with small silver-blue flowers.

The coquille variety of louviers, is an in-kind gourmet with excellent and delicate flavor, is appreciated in various dishes throughout Europe and usually tasted in salads. It is a popular ingredient for large American restaurants, where they are commonly served in omelets, mixed salads and potatoes.

Variety greatly appreciated by the great chefs of gourmet cuisine.
