This attractive perennial in the iris family forms dense clusters of strap-like, upright leaves and attractive, large, white flowers with a yellow throat. It is native to the understory of forests in eastern and southern Africa and in cultivation makes a wonderful, low maintenance ground cover that will take poor soil and periodic drought and some cold. Hardy to USDA Zone 9.
