All Aristolochia species, except for the Aristolochia gigantea, are larval host plants for the Pipevine Swallowtail, Polydamas Swallowtail, and Mylotes Cattleheart butterflies. This plant in particular is a larval host plant for the southern birdwing and common birdwing, as well as crimson and common rose butterflies.
