Native to central Mexico in the states of Hidalgo, San Luis Potosi and Tamaulipas, this rather large Agave inhabits dry deciduous forest vegetation. The pale green leaves are heavily armed with bizarre large white spines along the margins. It tolerates extreme heat, drought and also a little frost.
