Description
An umbrella shaped shrub or small tree to 10 in height, originally native to forests from western tropical Africa to Tanzania and northern Angola to 1000 m elevation, but widely cultivated elsewhere. It has pointed leaves with undulated margins and perfumed, white flowers followed by small red to black fruits. The infusion made from the roasted seeds of Coffea canephora, also known as Robusta coffee, is the second most popular and most consumed type of coffee in the world (after C. arabica) and is often used in blends and instant coffee. It grows well in many tropical areas.
